Who are we?
We are two immigrant girls who settled and built lives in two different countires with very different yet similar experiences
Randa
Randa Bennett is Tech Founder and CEO, she immigrated to the UK in the late nineties and worked through learning English, going to university and building a career in a male dominated industry. Randa has won several awards as a woman in FinTech. Randa will discuss the fun and challenges facing an immigrant girl building a life and a career in a new country.
Shahad
Shahad Atiya is an attorney in the United States with a practice focused on immigrant legal needs. She is an immigrant to the United States from Iraq. Shahad has been in America for over 2 decades and shares stories of what it is like growing up in the states as a teenager and thereafter building a career as a first generation immigrant.
Layth Sidiq
Layth is an international award-winning violinist, composer and educator from Jordan with Iraqi roots. A graduate of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, Layth is an in-demand violinist around the world and has been featured on multiple award-winning albums and his first album Son of Tigris was premiered at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2016.
Layth granted us the right to use The Fog from his latest album in the production of An Immigrant Girl.
